Electrochemical synthesis of porous membranes based on nanostructured alumina

Abstract:
The authors developed a technological process of preparation of free suspended matrices of single-layer membranes of ~ 30-70 m thick based upon nanostructured anodic porous alumina with non-modified pores diameter of about 40-60 nm. The peculiarities of the processes of nanostructured alumina nucleation and growth and also formation of highly organized alumina matrices at two-stage aluminum anodation are considered. It is worked out the mode of widening of through channels of pores prepared by isotropic etching of their walls with high uniformity of sizes. The technology of high reproductivity and regularity of the structure of nano-sized through channels makes it possible to produce the elements of filtration devices with improved permeability parameters for medical purposes.
