The article is devoted to the use of the TOPSIS method for assessing socio-economic threats to the development of farmlands. The main goal is to integrate the method with GIS for further decision-making procedures within the framework of ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of the farmlands. In this case, the concept of management can include various aspects, such as, for example, prevention, adaptive response, mitigation or elimination.
Fuzzy TOPSIS methods, econometric and index analysis methods of various indicators of the socio-economic use of farmlands are used. The model for applying the fuzzy TOPSIS method proposed in the article and the integration of results with GIS ensures adaptive analysis and sustainable management of the development processes of farmlands.
The synergistic effectiveness of technological, human- and business-oriented factors in a comprehensive assessment of the use of farmlands is substantiated. The proposed model for integrating the TOPSIS method and GIS is an anti-crisis management tool within the framework of ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of the farmlands.
