Abstract:

When planning rations and feed mixtures in animal husbandry, it is necessary to take into account the economic losses from the imbalance of feeding, leading to a decrease in the productivity of animals and a reduction in the terms of their operation. Losses can be described by non-linear penalty functions, the weight coefficients of which are set on the basis of expert estimates. The problem arises of checking and evaluating the calculated losses for various sets of penalty coefficients. An interactive user interface is required for prompt correction of penalty coefficients and calculation of penalty function values when planning and analyzing rations and feed mixtures.

Target is to developing a software tool that is a tool for interactive modeling of economic losses when planning feed mixtures.

Results. The issues of implementing the simulation of penalty functions in the R language are considered. Using the Shiny package, a Web-application has been developed that allows you to interactively control the behavior and graphical representation of penalty functions to account for losses associated with an imbalance in the nutritional components of rations and feed mixtures.

Practical significance. The ability to economically assess the feeding of farm animals using penalty functions allows you to plan rations and feed mixtures not only taking into account zootechnical requirements for nutritional value and feeding structure, but also to assess the imbalance of feeding for lost products, which allows you to include the "feeding" business process in the business chain -processes of a livestock enterprise that generate profit.
