Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to propose the method for data efficiency increasing when examining frequency properties of control system typical units. The abovementioned method is based on the transfer function representation as the multidimensional plots. The essence of the method is as follows. By means of mathematical transformations, the frequency module function and the frequency phase function are derived from given complex-valued transfer function. For the investigated object, these two obtained functions are frequency response and phase-frequency response respectively.

Frequency transfer function representation as two functions – the real one and the imaginary one – gives the opportunity to easily apply 3D graphics instruments for visual representation.

As an example, there are aperiodic element type of first order 3D frequency properties as well as forcing element of second order 3D frequency properties, oscillatory element (3 variants) 3D frequency properties and conservative element 3D frequency properties.
