Abstract:
The article substantiates the necessity and importance of the use of the distributed in space and time of computing to increase the efficiency of simulation studies of complex systems (simplicity, convenience, speed, adequacy, etc.) and increase the mass of their application. As a technological solution of this idea proposes the use of cloud computing. Use cloud technology in simulation is necessary for all stages of simulation studies, while ensuring a unified data exchange. This will make the simulation method really large-scale, available for a wide range of engineers, managers and executives. The following is the analysis of the history of the use of cloud computing technology in the process of conducting simulation studies. He showed that this technology is poorly used in modeling. For comparison the characteristics of the use of cloud technology in a number of popular languages and systems simulation ARENA, EXTEND, AnyLogic, Simio, SIMUL8, GPSS STUDIO and AUTOMOD. Revealed a lack of application level of distributed computing that significantly reduces the ability of wide application of simulation method. Based on years of research and practical experiments conducted by the authors, formulated the basic concept of cloud simulation. It ensuring following principles: the distribution of computation of the research process on different capacities of computers; providing possibility of parallel computation; collective work on the simulation project; increasing the reliability and quality of the entire research process; the reduction of the level of qualification requirements for users of simulation modeling; shortening studies the reduction of the cost of the study. Practical testing of the presented approach was conducted by the authors in the development of cloud-based automation system simulation research - GPSS Cloud operating in the GPSS modeling environment STUDIO. This environment uses as a simulation language General Purpose Simulation System - GPSS World. Currently implemented in software and tested in practice, the two cloud services - service modeling, service data as well as necessary for proper operation of scheduling algorithms, synchronization, and scaling. According to the results of research and practical testing we formulate the problem of further development of cloud-based modeling and transformation tool environment GPSS STUDIO in a fully functional cloud application. It is planned to implement interfaces for automated interaction GPSS Cloud applications that operate outside the environment - API (application programming interface) that will allow you to easily use the cloud for the needs of the user. These APIs will make it easy to create scalable applications both for desktop and Web environment. One of the most important step is to develop a SDK (software development kit) includes libraries for rapid development and examples of using these libraries, external services such as Google doc.
