Control system architecture for a mobile service robot

Abstract:
The paper describes the project of a common structure for a mobile service robot control system. A service robot has to be constructed out of mandatory set of functional modules defined here. In this paper service robot tasks are defined, general robot functions are described, level of autonomy is estimated, and the control system architecture is proposed. These proposals are based on extensive experience of the establishment of research, teaching and special (for the Ministry of Emergency Situations) autonomous mobile robotic systems.
