Abstract:
Knowledge Management System (KMS) is a set of information, software, hardware, and organizational solutions that are aimed at two following processes: - efficient resource management of the university. - training of specialists that meet the requirements of modern times. Accounting informational system of RNRMU uses as platform for the KMS. The knowledge engineering is a basis of the organization of modern, dynamic system of related knowledge as well as its use in computer aided systems. By knowledge engineering we mean the formalized and well structured description of the knowledge which is also called domain ontology. Construction of Ontology-based learning and visualization of the domain in the form of a semantic network gives us reach set of possibilities such as: - to present the hierarchical principle of learning, interdisciplinary relationships and navigation; - to quickly update training materials; to automate the process control of knowledge, sequence of training ; - to create individual learning curves; - to map external professional international terminology and training systems; - to develop clinical guidelines and standards; - to resolve analytical tasks for managing the learning process and so on. Here follows the realities of Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University in creating KMS: - cataloging the domain of the university in accordance with specialty in a modular fashion based on ontologies; - implementation of points rating system assessment of knowledge (PRS); - creating an environment for building ontologies and visualization of academic disciplines, select the types of relations between concepts of ontologies, automatic creation, valuation and accounting of test results based on ontologies; - development of mathematical algorithms to automate assessment tasks constructed with use ontologies; - creation of terminological subsystem to describe of application domain concepts and relationships between them; Adapted translation of medical terms, mapping to external terminological systems; - creating subsystems for developing interactive 2D and 3D learning models, self-control, testing, evaluation and automatic transmission results to the PRS; - business portal additional professional education using distant technologies and e-learning. The prospects of development of Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University in creating KMS are described below: - Development of "industrial" fully functional version of both terminological and ontology design subsystems and their gradual filling. - Decomposition of academic disciplines in a modular fashion to use in the construction of new training modules, operational update educational content, organization of distance learning courses. - Organization of full development cycle of interactive 2D and 3D models by menas of student and faculty staff and their introduction into the Educational Information System for learning and knowledge control. - Development of educational assignments using practice-oriented training and simulation environments. - Creating of support systems and medical decisions on the basis of medical domain ontology standards.
