The article discusses the issues of expanding the functionality of the developed software of the regional special library for the blind to them. N. Ostrovsky. In addition to the parser modules, administration module, statistics collection module, the program recognition code for the reader type is added to the specialized library system being developed and tested now. In accordance with GOST R 52872-2012, the function «mode for visually impaired» has been developed. Changed the interface, as well as the functionality of the module «Administration». The function of book issuing and returning books has been added. A view of the developed and modified modules is presented. The program code of the changes made to the library system is given.
Setting of a problem. The majority of the developed specialized library systems do not allow readers to interact with the directory of books directly. Every time when the reader with problems with sight wants to obtain information on the book, he needs to address the library worker. Occasionally this process can take considerable time that forms queues and leaves negative impressions at visitors of library.
Purpose. Consider a solution of a question of expansion of functionality of the developed software of regional special library for blind people of N. Ostrovsky. At the same time it is reasonable to provide to people with different problems with sight a direct possibility of interaction with the directory of books. It is necessary to provide adding of the mode for visually impaired in appendix form.
Results. In developed and the specialized library system tested now in addition to modules of the syntax analyzer, the module of administration, the module of collecting statistics the program code of recognition of type of the reader under the library card is entered. According to state standard specification P 52872-2012 «the mode for visually impaired» function is developed. The interface, as well as functionality of the Administration module is changed. Function of a knigovydacha and return of books is added. The type of the developed and changed modules is presented. The program code of the changes entered into the library system is given.
Practical importance. After training of visually impaired users in new functionality of a specialized library system the number of addresses to the librarian connected with the directory of books should decrease. It, in turn, will release the librarian for rendering other necessary help. Therefore queues for the address to the librarian should decrease significantly or at all disappear. Besides, this functionality will positively affect the status of the enterprise in the general set of functions of the developed specialized library system.
