Effect of energy loss at processing phase manipulated signals in landing radar to a maximum range

Abstract:
Deterioration of maximum range in the radar systems, caused by energy losses in processing of using phase-shifted radio signals is considered. Analytical expressions dependencies maximum range depending on the amount of energy loss are obtained and analyzed.
Availability of energy losses during processing phase-shifted radio signals with phase change by law of Barker code in radar systems can reduce the maximum range to 24%. It has been shown that a decrease of energy loss is possible by using a phase-shift keyed radio signals with smoothly change phase difference between the elementary pulses during which the decrease of the maximum range of the radar system does not exceed 3%.
