Space experiment on application of quantum optical systems without request for scale of time intercomparison of space diversity objects

Abstract:
The development of global space navigation systems requests increasing accuracy of time scale difference measurements. A problem of synchronization of the time scales in remote objects (for example, in space satellites of Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS), located far away from each other) becomes especially important at present. Distances between objects can reach thousands of km or more. The solution of modern tasks requests a picosecond accuracy during the time scale difference measurements. It is unattainable for existing radio engineering systems now. At present the only possible way to obtain such accuracy consists in using space optical location systems. This paper presents construction of such system, its land and onboard segments functioning. The main metrological characteristics of the system are given. The main results of space experiment are presented. A number of important results is received for the first time in the world.
