Abstract:
In this work the new algorithms for generation and reception of SEFDM-signals were proposed. These algorithms are based on bank of FFT/IFFT with reduced sizes, their complexity and conditions of applicability are analyzed. It is shown that for the number of subcarriers N = 64-1024 the computational complexity of (I)FFTNи(I)FFTLp schemes is 2,5−50 times better than of the algorithms based on DFT/IDFT. The proposed algorithms also outperform the schemes considered in [5], [6] by 1,2−6 times. The BER performances of the proposed methods in AWGN channel are the same. For BPSK modulation the energy loss for BER = 10−3 lies from 0,2 dB for α = 1/2 to 4 dB for α = 3/4. The considerable energy loss for SEFDM-signals requires interference compensation methods to be used on the receiver side. It is also shown that the number of the guard subcarriers significantly affects the BER performance of SEFDM. The increase of guard part of SEFDM-signal from 20% to 45% from the used frequency range provides energy gain of up to 4 dB.
