Abstract:
The article considers magnetic conductors (magnetic detectors, magnetic cores, covers), used in variable inductance transducers to increase their active area parameters.
Spiral magnetic conductors are applied in variable inductance transducers with almost no changes in their weight and size characteristics. It has been demonstrated that the active area of the resulting transducers, in the present article referred to as «magnetic anisotropic transducers» (MAT), is increased in comparison to conventional variable inductance transducers with the same length and cross-section area of the magnetic conductor. Cylindrical covers from spiral and straightforward magnetic conductors are compared to straightforward magnetic cores of conventional variable inductance transducers (VIT). The difference between efficient magnetic permeability of such covers and cores has been defined experimentally. For this purpose there has been a comparison of electromotive force, induced in electric loops, wound at the covers and cores under research. These covers and cores have been made from black steel wire from one roll. Measurements have been taken at three frequencies - 200; 400; 800 Hz, at six magnetic conductors of different geometric size and form.
The article provides the block diagram of the installation for the required electric measurements and formulae applied to calculate efficient magnetic permeability ratio for the compared magnetic conductors.
As a result of the measurements, calculations and comparison of the obtained efficient magnetic permeability ratio the following conclusions are made:
production of magnetic conductors in the form of cylindrical covers increase their efficient magnetic permeability more than twice compared to cylindrical cores from closely packed straightforward magnetic wires;
in terms of efficient magnetic permeability the covers made from spiral wires exceeds cylindrical covers from straightforward wires;
Within the range under research higher magnetic permeability of covers does not depend on the frequency.
