SAR potential resolution

Abstract:
In the article in accordance with a classical definition of Rayleigh-s criterion a point targets SAR resolution depended on a sounding signal bandwidth and an angle synthetic aperture is considered. A mathematical description of two-dimensional diagram of uncertainty is given and a potential resolution is averaged out. Change resolution limits are indicated. An angle value of synthetic aperture for a resolution minimum difference is concretized.

It is demonstrate that on a line antenna aperture a change of a phase difference of waves reflected by two point targets resolved in accordance with Rayleigh-s criterion is equaled to 2π for limits of a parameter change part. In this part the monotonous and maximum change of the above-mentioned difference is taken place. The well-known formulas of range and azimuth potential resolution of narrow-band and wide-band SAR is obtained for case of a wave reflection by two point targets. It is proved that a calculation of SAR resolution by spectrum width of space frequencies is based on the change to 2π of the phase difference of the waves reflected by two resolved point targets.
11. A graphic image of a space frequencies spectrum of wide-band SAR by a ring part for central angle equaled an angle synthetic aperture is used. The ring is limited by circumferences with radiuses determined by limiting frequencies of the sounding signal. The mathematical description of two-dimensional diagram of uncertainty for the angle synthetic aperture less π is obtained by angle transference of the ring part and calculation of a ring part projection to co-ordinate axis. For accidence angle situation of the ring part a formula of the calculation of the wide-band SAR average potential resolution is obtained.

The wide-band SAR potential resolution is dependent on an angle quantity of synthetic aperture is restricted from the bottom by quantity of an azimuth potential resolution in a direction of center azimuth or quantity of resolution determined by a diagonal of the space frequencies area, but from the top - by a quantity of range potential resolution in the direction of the center azimuth or by the quantity of the azimuth potential resolution in a direction of extreme azimuth. For the potential resolution minimum difference the angle synthetic aperture depended on a frequencies spectrum relative width of sounding signal is indicated.
13. For angle quantity of synthetic aperture less π the mathematical description of two-dimensional diagram of uncertainty and the average potential resolution of a narrow-band SAR is obtained from the similar wide-band SAR formulas when limits frequencies is equaled. For angle synthetic aperture more π the projections of a space frequencies spectrums and the resolutions of wide-band and narrow-band SAR are equaled. For angle quantity of synthetic aperture from π to 2π the mathematical description of two-dimensional diagram of uncertainty is given and the potential resolution is averaged out.
