Abstract:

This article discusses the issues of joint processing of heart rate and respiratory rate signals, carried out in order to analyze the state of the human body. The problem of finding a procedure for constructing sequences of a pneumogram and a cardiorhythmogram that are maximally synchronized with each other in time is solved. It is proposed to sample the respiratory signal at the time points determined by the beginning of the next heartbeat cycle and memorize them during the formation of the cardiorhythmogram signal. Modeling has shown that the proposed matched recording of pneumogram and cardiorhythmogram signals can significantly increase the reliability of the assessment of the effect of breathing on heart rhythm.

Using the example of processing of real electrocardiogram and pneumogram recordings, to confirm the advantage of the proposed method of matched recording of signals in assessing the degree of interrelation of respiratory and heart rhythm processes compared with known methods.

The criteria for the relationship between cardiorhythmograms and pneumograms, namely, the Fechner index and the correlation ratio, were calculated. For all cases, an increase in the values indicated by the criterion was recorded when using the proposed method for synchronizing cardiorhythmogram and pneumogram signals.

The results obtained allow us to conclude that the proposed method for synchronizing cardiorhythmogram and pneumogram signals is efficient and effective, providing a more reliable assessment of their relationship.
