Indirect measurement oh hemodynamic parameters in rats with different stress reactivity and corticosterone blood level

Abstract:
The corticosterone concentration in the blood in our study was weasured for each rat before and during 3h immobilization stress (IS). At the same time blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR) were recorded each 15 minute of immobilization. It was found that the rats with high corticoserone concentration in the blood the systolic BP was significantly (p < 0.005) lower (189.4±6.0 mmHg) than in rats with low corticoserone concentration (215.5±4.3 mmHg) after IS, but not before IS. We found nonsignificant prevalence of diastolic BP in rats with high corticoserone concentration in the blood measured after IS. In rats with high corticoserone concentration in the blood after IS the HR during the first hour of IS was significantly (p < 0.05) higher than in rats with low corticoserone concentration (290.0±27.1 и 237.4±18.3 beats per minute respectively). The most significant differences of systolic, diastolic BP and HR between groups of rats were observed at the first hour of IS.
