Abstract:
As is known, millions people suffer cardiovascular diseases which take first place among all illnesses of the mankind. Among cardiac-vascular diseases arterial hypertension is the most prevalent in the population. Hypertensive crisis can arise any time. More than a half of adult population of the planet are hypertensive and require constant control of arterial pressure. Therefore, practically every person needs precise and inexpensive device, which helps to measure and check arterial pressure (AP) at any time and place in everyday life. At present there are some portative electronic devices to measure AP, based on indirect registration. The data provided by the International expertise show that these devices have important shortcomings: they are not precise enough, not portative, incon-venient in use and expensive. The proposed by us device (a pen type) differs radically from those in sale: it is accurate, convenient in use, more simple, has an original construction, low price. 1. The accuracy of measurement is achieved by pressing an artery directly. In all existed devices the pressing effect is achieved by the cuff influencing the arm (upper arm, elbow, wrist, finger). In our device the effect is achieved by direct press on the artery. 2. Convenience in use: it is miniature, can be placed in a pocket or in a hand-bag, it is simple to measure arterial pressure. 3. Simple original construction: a device is portable and could be cheaper than others in sale. It has no cuff to clamp the hand (a wrist, a finger) and no electrical pump. Devices could be useful for healthy people for self-control of AP during their physical activity, under emotional tension and, par-ticularly, for sick ones suffering cardiac-vascular, nephritic or other diseases. The use of the proposed device will allow to take timely a prescribed medicine, to value its effectiveness, to apply to a doctor, to avoid serious cardiac-vascular disorders and in this way to prolong and safe the life.
