Features of the form parameters definition during the rheographic signals analysis

Abstract:
Rheography is monitor and noninvasive method for research in medicine and experimental physiology. Currently rheogram analysis includes qualitative and quantitative analysis. Defining the properties of the peaks is an important aspect in qualitative analysis of rheograms. These properties include: form of the peaks; regularity of its recurrence.
Shape of the peak is one of the most important parameters, which is often used in clinical practice. However, the method of analysis of peak form is subjective, it requires a lot of practical skills and depends on the mode of rheogram display. This is related to the lack of quantitative criteria of its differentiation.
Therefore, the main goals solved in work were: research form of the rheogram peaks in various parts of the body; determination of quantitative criteria in normal condition; comparison between the developed criteria and published data; comparison of the peak shape in normal and pathological conditions.
To achieve these objectives, a series of experiments with registration of rheograms in various areas of the body in healthy subjects and subjects with different types of pathology were conducted.
The main results are: agreement between the theoretical and experimental data on the shape of the peaks was discovered; the numerical values of the parameters characterizing the shape of the peak of rheograms in various parts of the body in normal and pathological conditions have been identified; comparison of forms of rheographic peaks in different parts of the body has been conducted. Shape of the peak on the rheovasogram is a segment of a circle. Peaks on the rheoencephalogram have relatively steep slope of anacrotic limb and slightly sloping catacrota; linear dependence of the asymmetry coefficient of the peaks was found for all rheogram types.
