Abstract:
The paper is devoted to the problem of the biological objects polychrome images processing with minimum losses of spatial and spectral information. This problem is solved by means of multispectral or hyperspectral image processing procedure performance. In «Introduction» involves the basic problem formulation and selection of the solution way - multispectral processing. In «Principles of the images multispectral and hyperspectral processing» contains the description of multispectral processing devices operation principle and the samples of this principle successful application for the biological objects images processing including the medical diagnostics applications. In «Acousto-optic devices for images spectral components selection - imaging AOTFs» provides the description of acousto-optic tunable filters (AOTF) operation and demonstrates the feasibility of their application in the multispectral processing systems. It is appointed that the images spectral selection can be performed by the pure software control, without application of any mechanically moving parts. In «Information characteristics of the images multispectral processing devices» defines the basic information characteristics of the devices by the example of AOTF, considers the physical basis of the AOTF spectral selectivity, and gives the spectral resolving power criterion proceeding from the admissible probability of information unit undistinguishing. In «Experimental installation for biological objects images multispectral processing» includes the description of experimental performance for multispectral processing realization using AOTF and polychrome light source with software-controlled spectral composition on the basis of the LED set. In «Fine adjustment of light wavelength by means of acousto-optic devices» analyses AOTF operation as a component of spectral lines fine adjustment whereas the rough adjustment is performed by the LED selection form the set in the polychrome light source. In «Future development of multispectral processing devices application for medical diagnostics application» lists and analyses the problems related basically to medical diagnostics which could be solved by means of the multispectral processing procedures. Among these problems - images processing in histology, cytometry, tomography, and some other biomedical areas. The list of references includes 14 references to the papers in biomedical technologies and optical information processing areas.
