Abstract:
Purpose - researching feasibility of using computer plano-podography for detection platypodia as one of the appearance of systemic involving of connective tissue.
Materials and methods. Database, with results of planto-podography, phenotypic and multiply echocardiographic examination of 50 patients at the age from 20 to 22 years old with marfanoid appearance, was gathered and processed. Technique of planto-podography was realized by 3 dimensional optic plotting footsteps scanning (from belong, from behind and from one side), using software and hardware system "SCAN". Footstep scanning was carried out in orthostatic position regular for patient, standing both feet hold with doing digit test.
Results. It was found, that digit diagnostic technique is not specific enough, as characteristic of systemic involving of connecting tissue (SICT), while planto-podography coefficients have shown their high level of specifity not only for detection of systemic involving of connective tissue, but also for marfanoid appearance (MA). Furthermore there was discovered strong correlation relationship between quantity of pathological changes of these coefficients and quantity of minor cardiac abnormalities, and also negative correlation between these coefficients and ejection fraction.
Conclusion. Digit method of evaluation of platypodia is highly sensitive one, but it is not very specific for identification of systemic involving of connective tissue and marfanoid appearance. Evaluation of planto-podography coefficients guarantees high level of specifity in identification of SICT and MA and provides details of the footstep deformation behavior. There was found correlation between platypodia, as one of the manifestation of the skeleton pathology, and some minor cardiac abnormities.
