Abstract:
Diabetes mellitus is the third most common disease in the world. Requirements to precision for automatic portable glucometers are regulated by international standard DIN EN ISO 15197:2003. At present there is no serial producing non-invasive glucometers, complying with the requirements of this standard. The aim of the work is investigation of blood glucose level measurements by spectrophotometric method efficiency. In this research there was carried out a set of measurements of glucose concentration measurements using spectrophotometric method. After analyzing of possible working spectral ranges it was defined, that the highest signal-to-noise ratio for glucose is in the spectral range 1500-1650 nm, and the peak of glucose absorptance in this range is in the wavelength 1600 nm. After definition of working wavelengths, the measurements of accuracy of glucose concentration in test solutions were carried out.
