Abstract:
Has been studied the effect of 10 GHz electromagnetic radiation (this frequency is in the range of radio stations and satellite television), and energy flex density (EFD) 5, 10 and 50 μW/сm2 to the behavioral activity of ciliate Spirostomum ambiguum. Previously, has been found that electromagnetic field (EMF) with frequency of mobile communication (1 GHz) decreased spontaneous motional activity unicellular aquatic organisms. In this case has been found a certain period of safe exposure time. This period decreased as EFD increased. Have been observed unusual signs this effect: a threshold character, overall, saturation at supra threshold effects. The experiment was conducted on a laboratory culture of unicellular infusoria Sp.ambiguum, which were ex-posed by the installation of low-intensity electromagnetic radiation by using the generator G4-109. The experiments were conducted for each of the EFD in five replications. 20 ciliates in the control group and 20 at each point of experiment have been tested. Thus, we have been tested in the experiment more than 2500 ciliates. The results were processed by using the statistical program Microsoft ® Excel'2003 SR-2 Origin ® by Student's test. After exposure of the EMF with EFD 5 μW/cm2 during 8 h have been observed reducing motor activity approximately 40% of the control level. The negative effect didn-t change as the time exposure increased up to 16 hours. When the EFD increased to maximum allowable (10 μW/сm2), reduction motor activity had the same pattern − the lack of effect at a certain exposure, and then jump a overall shift in the experimental ciliate to the new functional level at which the rate of motor activity differed from control by 40%. However, the time to find a safe of ciliates - motor activity in EMF with maximum allowable EFD, adopted in Russia, declined to 45 min. When the EFD increased to 50 μW/cm2 reduction in motor activity by approximately 40% of the control level was observed after 10 min exposure time It has been found that 10 GHz EMF with EFD 2 times smaller, equal and 5 times higher than the maximum allowable, decreased ciliates - motor activity. Deviation indicators motor activity from the control group in all cases was approximately 40%. The extent and nature of the negative effect after irradiation 10 GHz EMF was not appreciably different from irradiation mobile communication frequency (1 GHz). It has been identified that the effect has a threshold character, the overall involvement of the simplest to the reaction and independence, after reaching the threshold. The results are interesting in connection with the problem of electromagnetic pollution.
