Abstract:
Present-day medical-scientific institution has complex organizational system, in which hundreds of business processes of medical care and scientific research are run concurrently. This paper studies the specificity of business processes in medical-scientific institution and illustrates them using IDEF0 functional modeling standard. The interrelation of medical and scientific business processes is described in details at several levels. The special attention is paid to medical-diagnostic, ambulatory, stationary and scientific activity of specialized medical institution.
The main processes of medical-diagnostic activity are: ambulatory, stationary, and laboratory-diagnostic ones. All of them are directly related to patient cure. The auxiliary processes of medical-diagnostic activity consists of ad-ministrative, engineering and technical, information analytical, and financial ones. These processes act on patient cure implicitly through complex interrelation with sub-processes of ambulatory, stationary, and laboratory-diagnostic processes.
The process of ambulance activity starts with patient reference to the polyclinic. This process is associated with laboratory-diagnostic and stationary activities. Patients from policlinic can be directed to a scientific laboratory for additional research or to the stationary, depending on the state of health.
The process of stationary activity is the most complex one. The stationary activity consists of hospitalization, medical treatment, operating, intensive care, pharmacological activity, statistical information gathering, and quality control of medical treatment.
