Abstract:
A new method for estimation of hemodialysis (HD) adequacy by ultraviolet spectrophotometry of effluent dializate in a dialysis machine outlet is discussed. A mathematical model of the temporal dynamics of uremic toxins elimination during HD sessions is designed for patients attributed to different groups depending on the shape of absorption curves. Integral absorption in a wavelengths region of 240-310 nm is proposed as a parameter characterizing detoxication processes during HD session. In the framework of this model HD process can be described, depending on the patients - group, by the sum of exponential functions with characteristic times from 130 to 2000 min.
