Abstract:
Possibility of estimation of thickness layers of skin and fat in biological fabric using complex reflection coefficient on microwave frequency measure is considered. It is shown, that the thickness layers of skin and fat can be estimated using the prior information of range changing of thickness layers of skin and fat and the complex reflection coefficient measured. It is shown that the accuracy of measurement of thickness skin layer is about ±0.5 mm for the thickness skin layer up to 5 mm and the accuracy of measurement of thickness fat layer is about ±1.5 mm for the thickness fat layer up to 25 mm. It is shown also that the optimal measuring microwave frequencies allocation is in the interval 0.2 - 0.8 GHz and the best measuring method is using surface basing antenna. It is shown that the accuracy of measurement of thickness skin and fat layers is about ±0.1 mm when the control of the temporary changing of thickness layers can be carried out using the reflection coefficient measured. For processing of experimental data can be used the nomographs which were received by solving of two nonlinear equations by means of graphic method with the prior information of range changing of thickness layers of skin and fat. In this article suggested method may be used in medicine and cattle breeding applications in an effort to control fating process and to detection near location tumors.
