Abstract:

The article provides an overview and analysis of methods for forecasting and analyzing events based on data collected by the Zabbix monitoring system. The object of the study is the network and server infrastructure of JSC «NPP «Radiosvyaz». The relevance of this topic lies in the increase in the number of service systems and actuators, as well as the complication of computing systems and the development of the already existing multiservice data transmission network. In this regard, it is worth emphasizing the need to implement a continuous monitoring system that will allow more detailed monitoring of the state of the data transmission network, network infrastructure and server equipment and analysis of the received data. With the help of monitoring that supports the forecasting function, it is possible to avoid interruption of services and reduce processing time and the number of user requests.

The event forecast is formed on the basis of data and metrics collected by the monitoring system and stored in a relational database management system. The research shows the creation of a metric in a monitoring system based on the approximation of statistical data, using the selected forecasting function, for which a special trigger has been generated that will respond to the forecast of a critical event before it occurs in real time.

The contribution lies in the introduction of continuous monitoring technology based on Zabbix software, which made it possible to apply advance control actions to the enterprise information system without waiting for a denial of service, and reduced the downtime of critical nodes and systems several times and the choice of event forecasting algorithms based on functions of approximation and integration into the monitoring system.

Big data forecasting is a must-have feature in Zabbix today and will be distributed throughout monitoring to proactively address performance and capacity issues. The article presents methods for determining a mathematical model that is optimal for assessing a nonlinear trend in a monitoring system for a multiservice data transmission network. A common monitoring approach is to collect data from remote servers at a specified polling interval, then evaluate the values according to a specified trigger expression.
