Abstract:

The results of statistical analysis of packet delay measurements in a local telecommunications network of the Wi-Fi standard are considered. The features of the measurement scheme used during the natural experiment are discussed. A fragment of application software in the matlab environment is presented and commented on, which makes it possible to estimate the parameters of probability density distributions that best correspond to the obtained experimental results of measuring packet delay in a wireless telecommunications network.

Target – determination of the most suitable and corresponding to the stated problem probability density distribution law.

Measurements of packet delay in a Wi-Fi network were carried out. The possibility of a statistical description of the obtained experimental values using several types of distributions - nuclear and Weibull - was investigated. Based on the experimental results obtained, quantile graphs were constructed. It is shown that the kernel probability density distribution with a Gaussian kernel most fully corresponds to the obtained results of measuring packet delay in a wireless telecommunication network of the Wi-Fi standard.

An option has been proposed for aligning static data - the results of delay measurements in a wireless telecommunications network of the Wi-Fi standard, i.e. representing them in the most compact form using an analytical relationship.
