The use of short-bispectral estimates for time-frequency analysis of radar signals

Abstract:
A new approach to time-frequency analysis of radar signals received by the scattering of coherent electromagnetic waves extended object moving in the field of microwave radar. The proposed approach is based on the evolutionary sequence of short-term evaluations bispectral density, which are formed by the window, moving the registered radar signals. Rating bispectral density allows separate from transient backscatter only those frequency components which are connected phase relationships. To measure the signals corresponding to scattering by rocking the metal ball (test object) and walking pedestrian, coherent radar used in the centimeter wavelength range, operating in a continuous mode. Obtained experimentally using bispectral density estimates time-frequency distributions can be recommended as a new informative features for solving the problem of automatic radar detection of moving ground targets.
