Abstract:
The genus Juglans (family Juglandaceae) comprises several species and is widely distributed throughout the world. Green walnuts, shells, kernels and seeds, bark, and leaves are used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Leaves are easily available in abundant amounts. Walnut leaves and unripe fruit are considered to be a source of healthcare compounds and have been intensively used in traditional medicine for the treatment of venous insufficiency, hemorrhoids, hypoglycemia, diarrhea, and fungal or microbial infections. Natural antioxidants, such as phenolic compounds, are gaining importance due to their benefits for improving human health, decreasing the risk of degenerative diseases by reduction of oxidative stress, and inhibiting macromolecular oxidation. The analysis was conducted to determine the elemental composition in various parts of the leaf and unripe fruit of four species of the genus Juglans L in the condition of Bryansk region. 10 elements were detected by using by electron-ion raster scanning microscope «Quanta 200 3D» D in nanocenter NIU «BSU» and percentages of macronutrients and micronutrients in the leaf and unripe fruit were determined. The analysis was conducted to determine quantification of various substances: flavonoids, organic acids, vitamin C, antioxidant activity, solids and water. This data can be used in the pharmaceutical industry.
