Abstract:
Folic acid (vitamin B9) is used for treatment and prevention of megaloblastic anemia during pregnancy and after it, for treatment and prevention of postnatal depression, alcoholism and liver diseases. The acid was named folic, because it is contained in the leaves of green plants. The absorption takes place in duodenum and jejunum. Malabsorption can be caused by various diseases and by various medical products. Besides, folic acid is synthesized by intestinal microflora. Fluorimetric technique for determination of folic acid in vegetative objects after ultraviolet irradiation is offered. Optimum conditions of sample preparation and tests were selected: рН mediums, irradiation time. Validation assessment and comparison with official method were carried out. Standardization (validation) of the stated method of quantitative determination of folic acid was carried out in view of the following factors: specificity, linear dependence, analytical range of the technique, reproducibility, correctness. In order to find a linear dependence statistical sample group processing was carried out, the sample group was received as a result of quantitative analysis of 9 model samples of various concentration. Regression coefficient value was calculated 0,99971. Comparison of metrological characteristics of the offered fluorimetric method and official photocolorimetric method was carried out. The obtained data are indicative of comparability of the results obtained by pharmacopoeial method and the method offered. The technique is offered for quantitative determination of folic acid in vegetative raw materials.
