Abstract:

At the current stage of development of the Russian Federation in various fields of activity, it is necessary to solve an increasing number of tasks both in and out of space. At the same time, the technical requirements for satellite communications have become tougher in terms of their broadband, efficiency, reliability and global information delivery. Message delivery using inter-satellite paths is currently only being tested for low-orbit communications systems (LSS) in the same orbital plane without routing on board the satellite. The problem of developing methods that ensure a given quality of management of broadband information flows in the orbital constellation of a low-orbit satellite communications system is acute. In this case, the methods must meet the criteria: reducing the cost of the satellite and its maintenance; massive provision of space services; maximizing the approximation of space communications services to their terrestrial alternatives in terms of delivery time and data transfer rate. To solve this problem, it is necessary to develop methods based on the implementation of LSS with orbital groupings of repeater satellites with the data routing function on board a spacecraft and the principles of on-board head-bit switching.

The article is devoted to the results of the analysis and development of information management and processing methods in the LSS. To control the flow of information, data switching on-board repeater satellites with a router function (RSRF) based on partial reading of the information necessary for information delivery, as well as on the basis of reading the head-bit in the headers of packets of delivered information. To obtain information about the delivery, it is proposed to use the geographical coordinates of the recipient in the form of the RSRF service area code. Optical inter-satellite paths and subscriber radio paths were used in the LSS to increase the speed of information transmission to the LSS while maintaining the mass and size parameters and energy consumption of subscriber devices.

These methods are of practical importance: they save the resources needed to synchronize electronic media. They reduce the amount of addressable information over time. This frees up the resources of the transceiver and the operating time of the channel. It also increases the amount of information about the subscriber, which further reduces shipping costs. The implementation of these methods will increase the technical and economic attractiveness of LSS communication services. They will increase the reliability of broadband information transmission between subscribers, regardless of their mobility. They provide information delivery bypassing ground stations to any point of the Earth with a delay of less than 175 ms. Finally, they will provide 100% global connectivity coverage.
