Abstract:

Currently, the "gold standard" of breast cancer treatment is the surgical method. However, after this surgical intervention, women cannot return to their previous rhythm of life due to postoperative complications, which not only impair performance, but also negatively affect the emotional component of a woman.

The purpose of the work – to identify the importance of physical therapy for improving the effectiveness of physical rehabilitation and to determine the relationship between this treatment and the psychoemotional state of women after breast removal at the outpatient stage of recovery.

The significance of physical therapy classes for the course of the rehabilitation process after mastectomy is analyzed. It has been revealed that physical therapy helps to improve the psychoemotional state (anxiety, fatigue, low self-esteem, shyness), through regular exercise, there is a faster decrease in pain and discomfort, the amplitude of motor function increases, i.e. women return faster to their usual living conditions, to their daily lifestyle and to work.

The obtained results are proposed to be used in further medical practice for better physical rehabilitation and restoration of the psychological state of patients in the postoperative period and to increase the importance of an active lifestyle.
