Abstract:

Biofilm formation is regulated by a quorum-dependent system communication, which in turn significantly increases the level of resistance pathogenic microorganisms in relation to therapeutic doses of most antibacterial drugs.

To evaluate the additive effect of antibiotics in combination with antiQS on biofilm formation.

In the course of the study aimed at assessing the additive the effect of the combined action of antibiotics and anti-QS substances was found to be kanamycin complexes have the most pronounced biological effect at a dose 0.150 µg/µl with coumarin at a concentration of 15 µg/µl, and ampicillin 0.050 µg/µl with piragollol 20 µg/µl, respectively.

Use of quorum sensing inhibitors in combination with antibiotics will increase the level of effectiveness of the latter.
