Abstract:
The medico-social meaning of tuberculosis dictates the need to search for new genetic predictors that predetermine a protracted and difficult course, one of which can be the deletion of the matrix metalloprotease-1 (MMP-1) 2G / 2G gene, leading to the expression of clinical syndromes and affecting the effectiveness of specific therapy. The scientific research established the relationship between the polymorphism of the MMP-1 gene and the severity of the clinical course of pulmonary tuberculosis. MMP-1 was determined in 73 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis: group 1 with MMP-1 G1 / G1 genotype - 15 people (20,5 %), 2nd group with MMP-1 G2/G1 genotype - 27 people (50,7 %) and the third group - the genotype MMP-1 G2/G2 - 21 people (28,8 %). The patients of the 3rd group had significantly longer periods of symptoms, intoxication and bronchopulmonary disorders, delayed resolution of pulmonary tissue infiltration and closure of the decay cavities than in patients of the 1st and 2nd groups (p < 0,05). The detection of a polymorphic variant of MMP-1 2G/2G in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis can be a prognostic point of protracted course and a rationale for the appointment of pathogenetic therapy.
