Abstract:
The investigations of the consequences for the posterity of two generations of Japanese quail Coturnix coturnix japonica dom after chronic γ-radiation in the doses of 138-600 mkGy/day of the eggs of parental generation on the stage of embryo and early post-natal development revealed a significant alteration in spermatogenic epithelium of male reproductive organs. Presented experimental data testify about that even low doses of γ-radiation of eggs on the stages of embryo and early post-natal period induce some disturbances in the development of sex cells in males of the 1-st and 2-nd generation. A direct dependence of the rate of disturbances in spermo- and spermiogenesis of testicle epithelium cells was observed depending on the dose radiation. Moreover, ruin and degeneration of sex cells in different-aged mature males of two generations occurs mainly on the stage of maturity and differentiation of spermatids during spermatogenesis, especially under γ-radiation of eggs in dose of 600 mkGy. Such destructive alterations of the structure of male testicles sex cells of quail are revealed in the disturbances of spermatogenesis process, that can lead to unfavorable genetic consequences.
