Abstract:
Significant positive correlations of mortality rate coefficients (MRC) from a suicide of men and women with a consumption level of various alcoholic drinks (strong alcohol, wine and beer) and mortality rate due to alcoholism are established. Gender distinctions are revealed. Included in regression models independent variables (consumption levels of alcoholic drinks and mortality rate from an alcoholism) explain 66 % and 52 % of variability of frequency of suicides of men and women (dependent variables). Full refusal of consumption of strong alcohol reduces MRC from a suicide of men in the world on 39,5 %, in Russia - 76,5 %; women - 37,9 %, in Russia - 54,3 %. According to the regression analysis an average daily level of consumption of strong alcohol in the world for men is 10,4 g (3,8 kg/year), in Russia - 91,8 g (33,5 kg/year). Increase in the consumption of strong alcohol on 3g/ day (1 kg/year) in-creases MRC from suicides of men in the world by 10,8 % (1,6 person), in Russia - 2,4 % (1,6 person). Increase MRC from an alcoholism of men in the world on 1 person per 100 000 in a year increases MRC from suicides of men by 5,8 % (0,8 person) in the world, in Russia - 1,3 % (0,9 person). As a whole population researches confirm existence of positive association between the level of suicides and consumption of alcohol both in the world, and in Russia. Apparently, a consumption level of strong alcohol and MRC from an alcoholism have a greater influence on frequency of suicides . Our results support the common opinion on expediency of change of structure of consumed drinks in favour of weaker drinks (with the low contents of alcohol), especially in Russia that will positively be reflected on a population level of suicides and an alcoholism.
