Abstract:
The results presented demonstrate the ability of macrophages to alter their phenotypic plasticity depending on the type of osteoplastic material, including the changes of their response to LPS activation. The results point to some mechanisms of inducing pro- and anti-inflammatory response in macrophages in response to exogenous osteoplastic materials. The effects of tested osteoplastic material on the M1 and M2 macrophages phenotypes characterized by moderate pro-inflammatory activation with a tendency to shift them towards an anti-inflammatory phenotype, acti-vating and regulating reparative processes. Development of inflammation in a wound in the presence of osteoplastic materials can be accompanied by enhanced both pro- and anti-inflammatory activity of macrophages.
