Abstract:
Results of the comparative analysis of sVCAM-1 levels in blood serum for 50 apparently healthy people, 152 patients with malignant tumors and 14 patients with borderline tumors of bone are presented, taking into account main clinical and morphological characteristics of the desease. The average content of sVCAM-1 in blood serum for patients with neoplasms of bones was authentically higher than that for healthy people. There were no differences between sVCAM-1 contents for borderline and malignant bone tumors. Authentical dependeces of sVCAM-1 content in blood serum were not identified in patients with respect to their age and type of affected bones and any interconnction between tumor size and sVCAM-1 level in blood did not revealed. During the initial examination, sVCAM-1 levels in blood serum for patients with positive effect from chemotherapy treatment corresponding to the 3rd or 4th degrees of the treatment pathomorphosis tumor were lower than those for patients which noted resistance to chemotherapy or for the 2nd degree of the treatment pathomorphosis. Possible role of sVCAM-1 in the bone malignant tumor pathomorphosis is discussed.
