Peripheral mechanisms of trigeminal neuralgia

Abstract:
The results of the use of intraosseous blockades in the complex treatment of pain in patients with trigeminal neuralgia. The study included 110 patients with trigeminal neuralgia. Efficacy of treatment was assessed by analyzing changes in clinical and neurological examination, visual analog scale and The McGill Pain Questionnaire before and after therapy. Results of the study of pain has shown that the use of intraosseous blockades in the complex treatment of patients with trigeminal neuralgia resulted in significantly greater regression of all parameters of pain. The high efficiency of the method of intraosseous blockades confirms an important role in the pathogenesis of peripheral osteoreception pain.
