Abstract:
The prevalence of discogenic disease is high. This makes the study of the state of the intervertebral discs. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) - a basic method for studying intervertebral disc. Assessment of the intervertebral discs and presented subjective quality indicators. We have developed a method that carries out a computer analysis of digital images of spinal MRI for the assessment of intervertebral discs. This method gives a quantitative assessment of in-tervertebral discs. Intervertebral discs were examined by gender and age. To this end, selected 212 micro-images of intervertebral discs of the lumbosacral spine. Of these, 101 belonged to drive to males, 110 - person female. The exceptions were low-quality discs. Compared the values of the average brightness level of the intervertebral discs of men and women. Statistically significant difference was not detected (p = 0,06). Compared the patients' age and the average degree of brightness of intervertebral discs L1-L2 to L4-L5 (nonparametric method of Spearman correlation analysis). An inverse statistically signifi-cant moderate correlation (r = - 0,50; p = 0,001). Intervertebral disc L5-S1 is an exception. Studied the intervertebral discs of the lumbosacral spine. The correlation between the average brightness level of L1-L2 to L4-L5. Intervertebral disc L5-S1 is an exception. Were identified an average level of brightness, standard deviation, median and confidence in-tervals for the age groups. Proved statistically significant difference between all age groups. Estab-lished neuroimaging characteristics of intervertebral disc spine.
