SEASONAL VARIATION IN LIPID LEVELS IN THE HEALTHY MEN

Abstract:
The article is devoted to study seasonal variation in blood lipid and hormone levels in the healthy men. The 173 healthy men volunteers aged 30 to 50 years were examined four times during the year: in winter (January, February), spring (April, May), summer (July, August) and autumn (Oc-tober, November). Is established, that the total cholesterol, triglycerides and lipoproteins of very low density cholesterol a significant higher in autumn, LDL cholesterol and - in winter, HDL cholesterol and apolipoprotein E - in spring (p < 0,05). At surveyed in the autumn-winter period it is marked intensification lipid exchange, which underlies so-called switching metabolism with «carbohydrate» such as on «fatty». One of the brigh-test displays of this phenomenon are the increased levels triglycerides and lipoproteins of very low density in blood. Thus, it is possible to examine low parameters of apolipoprotein E in this time, probably, as the adaptive adaptation ensuring an opportunity of realization metabolic of reorgani-zations for activization to use energy lipid with the purposes of indemnification energy loss in-creased during cold months. The testosterone, cortisone and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) peaks in summer, total triiodothyronine (T3), leptin and insulin - in winter, and total thyroxine (Т4)- in autumn (p < 0,05). The results for C-reactive protein exhibits a peak in winter. The lowest level is reached in summer (p < 0,05). Thus, the received data testify to wavy adaptive changes blood lipid and hormone levels within one year. Thus the statistically significant seasonal variation of lipid and hormone levels in the healthy men are revealed.
