Abstract:

The urban environment is a complex system of spatially distributed dynamic objects. And urban geographic information system includes a wide range of different types of complex data collected from various sources that needs to be processed. Nowadays development of information systems for urban management based on current digital technologies, taking into account compliance with established standards, is both burning and topical.

Purpose – in order to improve the efficiency of urban management and planning, it is necessary to conduct research on possibilities of developing a geographic information system that can be embedded into ongoing projects for the digitalization of the urban planning.

Results. The article describes a geographic information system aimed at conducting primary engineering and construction surveys based on the use of modern digital technologies in accordance with the existing regulatory and methodological documentation. Formalization of the processes of engineering and construction work is represented and generalized structure of the system developed on this basis is described as well as the description of the main functional capabilities and features of the system, including the possibility of generating and evaluating alternative options for the location of objects in the context of the urban environment based on the data of a three-dimensional model that provides spatial – coordinate data that meet the requirements for the relevant work.
