Abstract:

Polikarpov single-ended Active Clamp DC-DC power converter is a new, more advanced second generation converter. It is designed to more efficiently provide consumers with electric energy of the required level and quality required for the maintenance and normal functioning of electronic equipment in the fields of military, civilian and dual-use, as this is possible with both single-cycle DC voltage converters of the first generation and push-pull DC voltage converters. The elimination of the shortcomings of the above types of DC/DC converters for power supplies of electronic equipment was and remains a significant scientific problem, the solution of which this work is devoted to.

Purpose of work is to conduct a comparative characteristic of DC-DC converters and show the advantages of a second-cycle singlephase converter, eliminating the disadvantages of DC-voltage converters.

It is shown that Polikarpov single-ended Active Clamp DC-DC power converter has the best electrical characteristics, power and reliability, as well as weight and size and cost indicators, both in comparison with single-cycle DC voltage converters of the first generation, and in comparison with push-pull DC voltage converters. It is noted that, if necessary, it can transfer energy either only on the forward, or only on the reverse path, or on the forward and reverse path depending on the technical requirements, surpassing due to the technology of active voltage limitation both the previous generation of single-phase converters and push-pull converters . When carrying out theoretical and mathematical analysis, as well as modeling it with the given parameters (VIN = 300 V; VOUT = 15 V;

PL = 200 W; f = 500 kHz), it was found that the advanced circuitry solutions implemented in it allowed to obtain advantages, eliminating the disadvantages of the above types of DC/DC converters, and consider it a converter of a higher generation of development.

The advantages shown make the Polikarpov single-ended Active Clamp DC-DC power converter the most effective and, as a result, the most popular and most used DC voltage converter in the world. Billions of users of electronic devices use the benefits of this unique device every day, which provides consumers with the necessary level and quality of electrical energy required for the maintenance and normal functioning of electronic equipment in the areas of telecommunications, data processing, industrial controls, test and medical equipment, military and aerospace equipment, and electronics etc.
