Optimization of resource allocation to the fixed-satellite service for the geostationary relay

Abstract:
A significant part of the overall load transponders of geostationary communications satellites make up feeds fixed satellite service (FSS) that pass information between the two Earth Stations (ES). Virtually the frequency band (FB) of transponders providing this service is not fully occupied. However, energy resource (effective isotropically radiated power (EIRP)) of transponders completely exhausted. In these circumstances, the satellite operator\'s task is to ensure that, while meeting the demands of consumers in the provision of FB and EIRP, or in other words resources of satellite relay (SR), to ensure the optimal use of this resources. Optimal SR-resource management has received considerable attention in the literature. This is not only FB&EIRP, but also other compo-nents of the communications resource as time and spatial localization as the varying degrees of quality of service (QoS) and other [1−3]. If user terminal equipment is specified, the capabilities of resources allocation management on current consumer-s request are limited by variation of only trellis-coded modulations (TCM) of ES. For using at the time of operational management, the optimization procedure was proposed. To meet the consumer-s requirements (rate and accuracy) for the FSS it is necessary to select the TCM, which does not require excessive use of transponder resources and further aligns the relative shares for both species of allocated resources. When managing a bootstrapping or scheduling there are additional factors that you can use to manage, including reallocation some of users - requests between transponders to improve overall boot. The technical and economic efficiency of the offered methods was confirmed by simulation. The present paper sums up those previously carried out by the authors of the studies.
