Abstract:
It is known that alternating magnetic field (AMF) can influence solubility of chemical substances in water environment and this change is evident the most under the influence of ~1−3 Hz AMF. Solution reactions of different substances in water may occur with release or consuming heat. It can be assumed that AMF influence upon water used as solvent can alternate the path of temperature dependence of heating or cooling the solution. The aim of this research was to experimentally determine AMF influence degree on temperature-time reaction parameters, i.e. neu-tralization reaction of water solutions of acid with alkali, urea and ethylene glycol dissolution reaction in water. Temperature was registered during constant solution mixing by means of embedded temperature detector of Expert-001 liquid analyzer. In the course of the experiments water which was used as a solvent or one of made solutions was being subjected to 50 mTl ~2 Hz alternating magnetic filed during one hour. For the control water sample that had not been treated with AMF under normal conditions almost linear decrease of temperature change was observed in the course of the reaction in time. Urea dissolution process progresses differently in water that was being preliminarily treated with 2 Hz AMF during 1 hour: solution temperature decreases rapidly, whereas in the control solution this process take approximately 3 times less time. It should be noted that threshold value of temperature in the test solution is also lower than in the control solution. Ethylene glycol dissolution in test water takes considerably less time that in the control solution, where magnetic water was used as a solvent. Another evidence of the impact of AMF upon chemical reaction time is the results shown for reaction of H2SO4 acid neutralization with NaOH alkali. The results of research show that speed of temperature change in endo- and exothermic reactions can be effectively controlled by treating beforehand the water used as a solvent by AMF. These results can be considered to be another experimental evidence of the change in reaction path of substance solution in water under the influence of AMF.
