Abstract:
This article is the operation principal of feed antenna is presented which is based on «repairable scheme» using of polarization fre-quency-selective device composed of two joined orthomode selectors. The feed antenna, being engineered according to this scheme by JSC «ISS» allows to ensure the transmitting and receiving signals with circular polarization over the Ka/Q-bands according to the contemporary requirements which are demanded for feed antenna of satelite communication systems in accordance with the values of axial ratio and VSWR. Using of cross-splitter as orthomode selector allowed to expand the operating bandwidth. Through the introduction of various irregularities in the construction of this selector able to separate low and high frequency components of the frequency spectrum and to achieve suppression of spurious higher modes. Recovering the second signal is provided with a combined orthomode first selector by four U-shaped waveguide sections. Introduction to the design of high-frequency selector on the output polarizer, implemented on a circular waveguide with a groove, and the low-frequency output of the septum polarizer, allowed for the release of data polarizers transmit / receive signals with circular polarization. The structure of such a feed antenna allows to ensure not onle high demands for the cross-polarization characteristics and return loss values channel of transmit and receive signals, but also to save from necessary using if extra separate feed antenna for deviding transmit-receive frequencies. The designed feed antenna finds an application for antenna technique of satellite communication. The advantages of this device are small dimensions and weight of the feed systems and the ability to work in a broad frequency range, as in reception and the transmission with the optimum values of the electrical characteristics.
