Regenerative amplifier on synchronized magnetrons of three millimeter wavelength band

Abstract:
Regenerative magnetron amplifiers are as a rule implemented with the help of ferrite circulators. However circulation-free schemes of double - pole reflective amplifiers switch-on are possible as well. I.V. Lebedev in the early sixties of the twentieth century suggested application of a balance diagram, containing 2 amplifiers connected to a waveguide bridge, which in this case functions as a separator of signal input and output. Balance diagram enables improving regenerative amplifiers parameters. If two amplifiers are used, a half of the input power comes to each of them which provide amplification factor gain in a balance amplifier of a magnetron type, as magnetron amplifiers have a reducing type of dependence from the input signal level. With a comparative mismatching of two amplifiers in frequency, the operating band extends. O.V. Betskiy and E.M. Guttsait in 1966 performed calculative and experimental works to create such an amplifier on synchronized magnetron generators in a three-centimeter wavelength band. Shortwave part of a millimeter band technics development requires power ascension and stability of generator and amplifier devices. This study considers the results of regenerative amplifier experimental implementation in three-millimeter wavelength band.
