Abstract:
General reliability concepts of ship power plants (SPP) are considered with attention to increased requirements and their functional capabilities. Reliability concept used in designing of advanced SPP is based on the following systematic directions: machine design, materials, and technology of the working bodies (energo-technological processes). Analysis of design/material/working bodies complex allows determine the criteria of strength, life time of most critical elements of SSP, determine the limits of reliability increase and optimization of design process. A structural schematic of the considered reliability concept is presented. The units are classified as operating in open, semi-open, semi-closed and closed cycles. In accordance with the presented reliability concept, the steps in SPP designing process are discussed. The presented principles of energo-technological systems designing allowed JST «KTW» serial production of highly-stressed heat exchanging systems for advanced SPP.
