Data transmission system on the base of broad-band radio access, its characteristics and application

Abstract:
In the article the overview of the main standards of a broad-band radio access is given and the choice of the standard IEEE 802.16 for creation of broad-band radio access system on its base is reasoned. Variants of application of this system is described. The system of a broad-band radio access for the organization of communication within the airdrome communication system is considered. Existing communication systems are constructed with usage of hardwired connections between remote objects. These systems commonly use low-speed communication channels. At the modernization of airdrome communication systems which is connected with the change for high-speed communication channels, there are certain problems of new cables laying. The objects with the flight control systems are allocated on both sides of the runway, and there is the problem of the laying of new cables under the runway. The considered communication system allows to avoid the given problems because the broad-band radio channel providing the necessary services for flights control and organization is used. The main characteristics of the given system, its composition and functional capabilities are presented. Various variants of system application are considered and some additional services which can be applied at usage of the given system are described. The application of the considered system allows to reduce considerably expenses for modernization of airdrome systems and also to reduce the readiness time of again created systems.
