Application of parameterization methods in designing ship equipment with use of 3D modeling CAD

Abstract:
When designing equipment consideration of several design variants is required. One way of solving a problem of accelerating of designing is application of parameterization methods. Parametrization in CAD is simulation using model parameters and relations between these parameters. Parameterization objects are three-dimensional models of shipboard equipment: devices, desks, antenna systems, launchers. Objects are subdivided on unified and not unified. Parametrization should be applied at designing of following objects: products with several variants of execution; unified products; products for modernization. The author offers following methods of parameterization: 1) method parametrization on weight; 2) method parametrization by the form; 3) method parametrization by the sizes. By means of the proposed methods the three-dimensional parametrical model of a construction is created. To set a parametric relationships in three-dimensional model capabilities of CAD SolidWorks are used. In this article is provided an algorithm for creating three-dimensional parametric model. Control kernel of parametrical model is the macro with the program code, performing model modification at change of its parameters. In article application of parametrization methods on an example of designing of devices is considered. The result is a universal three-dimensional model of a typical device with the set-up parameters (number and size of cells and modules). Advantage of using parametrization methods at designing is reduction of time and computing resources on creation of new variants of a construction.
