Abstract:
The use of digital computers on board of the spacecrafts required the use of conversion devices into digital representation of analog information
At the initial stage, all communication lines were integrated into a single device, what provided reducing the mass and energy indexes, but contributed to the formation of a complex cable network. Attempts to divide the converters into parts have led to the size and weight characteristics increasing and don-t simplified board network topology, since the division was made on the basis of functional commonality (relay module, analog converter, etc.)
The progress of microelectronics and the creation of the mechanical structure designs in the longevous, fault-tolerant and radiation-resistant equipment technology allowing to reduce the weight and size characteristics to three times allowed to create on-board control complexes with distributed network adapters of territorial commonality without increasing the weight and size characteristics and with a significant reduction in onboard cable network.
The ideology of the design based on the adaptation of on-board instruments to the information and control network protocols instead of a digital computer to the device interface was called «digital platform».
The principles of integration based on «digital platforms» suppose:
the unified on-board information and control network based on the use of standard communication interfaces;
the single information space;
the integrated computing resources;
the unified software;
the unified set of on-board equipment instruments;
the unified technology to create functional software;
the unified protocols of communication with control and manage complexes at all stages of the life cycle.
Using the digital platform will address the following objectives:
the adaptation of the executives to different types of orbits and spacecraft flight missions;
the providing of spacecraft status telemetry monitoring, diagnostics and parrying of the calculated contingencies;
adaptation of controls to different payloads;
the ability to customize the control system of spacecraft in-service.
